Peters Creek has faithfully served our community for over 175 years. From our humble beginnings, we have grown into a vibrant place of worship, reflection, and fellowship. Started in the fall of 1845, the original meeting house of Peters Creek was erected at a cost of $250. The legend even says at one point we were a hospital to soldiers during the Battle of Hanging Rock. As the ‘mother’ Church of the Brethren in Roanoke, Peters Creek was the founding congregation from which five other churches in the area emerged. Throughout the years, our church has undergone numerous renovations, adapting to changing times while remaining a place of worship, fellowship, and spiritual growth for all who enter its doors.
